From Sketchbook to Sales: What I Wish I Knew When I First Tried to Sell My Art

how to sell your art

When I started doodling and selling art for Gingiber back in 2009, I had no clue what I was doing.

I was just a mom with a sketchbook, a baby, and a wild little hope that maybe—just maybe—I could turn my drawings into something more.

I didn’t have a studio. Or a business plan.
I didn’t even know what products to make, let alone how to make them.

I just knew I had this art I believed in—and I wanted people to see it.
To hold it. To love it. To maybe even pay for it.

So I did what so many of us do at the start:
I Googled. A lot.
I didn't know how products got made, so I just made them myself by hand.
I uploaded a few things to Etsy and crossed my fingers.
I undercharged. I overpriced. I rewrote my listings ten times.

I made so many mistakes trying to figure out what would actually sell.

If You’re in That “Messy Middle” Right Now…

You’re not alone.

If you’ve got a folder full of art on your iPad,
or paintings in your portfolio,

or a stack of finished pieces tucked away in a drawer…
and you’re whispering to yourself, “I want to do something with this…”

But you’re also stuck wondering:

  • What kind of product should I even make?

  • Where do I find someone to make it (so I don't have to hand-make it myself)?

  • How do I price it so I actually make money?

  • Who’s going to buy it?

I get it. Because I’ve been there.

Here’s What I Wish I Had Back Then

A clear plan.
A path that said, “Do this first. Then this. Now send this email. Try this platform.”

Something that took away the mystery
and gave me momentum.

And that’s exactly why I created the Art for Products Made Simple Toolkit—for the artist I used to be, and the artist you might be right now.

It walks you through, step-by-step, how to go from “I have some art”
to “Look what I made—and sold.”

Here’s what’s inside:
✔️ A clear 4-phase roadmap: product idea → first sale
✔️ Tools to help you pick your product, price it, and prove demand
✔️ Email scripts, NDA templates, and manufacturer outreach guides
✔️ Launch content and product description formulas
✔️ A system that saves you 140+ hours of trial-and-error

The goal?
To help you stop spinning your wheels and get your first product out into the world.

Why Now?

This toolkit is available for just $97 through June 30.
After that, the price goes up to $147.

And if you end up joining my full course Leverage Your Art in August,
you’ll get that $97 back as a credit toward enrollment.

So if you’re ready to move from “someday” to something sold,
this is your gentle nudge.
